The changing scale of herds would have sometimes been in step with the coming together of people from different communities and this too may have held a metaphoric significance for the ties that stretched between those groups.

These are the characteristics of a place that was visited perhaps on a periodic basis and one that saw a limited range of stoneworking tasks. A closer inspection of this scatter is revealing. These cores bear the scars of consistent and almost obsessive knapping, with regular working extended until they were exhausted, or reduced to heavily fractured fragments.
